If you like medium sized ships, you go to cruiser, then maybe BC and finally HAC. If you like battleships, you go through cruiser, BC, BS and later tech 2 BS. You could even end up using a dread.
But if you like small and fast ships, you use frigate, then interceptor, and then you are at a dead-end, after only 2 months of play.
I am beginning to understand that EVE is not made for people who likes small ships. Everything in EVE is made after the concept BIG = BETTER, and if you dont like big ships, tough luck.
A pity really, since EVE seems to be such a nice game otherwise.
ROFLPIMP What system do you live in, cause I wanna go where bigger is better.
1st off, your nice frigate/interceptor can run Blockades no problem. Try that in a BS, BC, or even some HAC's (Exception is Vagabond). Unless you have a complete idiot of a person being the Blockader (is that a word?) you won't do it
2nd Ever tried to use Cruiser/BS guns? Miss Central on anything smaller than you unless you are at nosebleed range. I can't fathom how horrible capital ship weaponry's tracking is.
3rd Survivabilty. Truth be told, AF's and inties are by far more survivable than BS pound for pound. Who in any sort of Fleet engagement is going to target the AF or Inty? Unless it's the last target, your not. HAC's and BS are primary (and the BB and odd logistic cruiser). Even if you are targeted, 99.9% of those big old 1400's, Tachyons, or 425 rails will miss you unless you do something completely silly, like stop or make a bee line straight at them.
My last point, one that is often over looked. EvE is a game about flying capital ships. CCP has the naming convention a bit messed up, but everything from a frigate up is a captial ship (IE Not Fighters or corvettes from other space sim Games) If you don't believe me, play a star wars game or Descent freespace and you'll see how much bigger a frigate is to a fighter. So you won't be seeing fighters anytime soon, as more than likely they would be stock with no variations (Which stock stuff sucks) and allthough there is a appeal for it, the current system pleases the majority of players.
My only advice to you is Try something new. Learn BS or cruiser skills. They are fun, even if you dislike slow things. Also, you have interceptors to V? Tried production? Basicly what I'm saying is Don't roll over and quit because things aren't going your way. I love my BS and Cruisers and HAC's. When Tracking got "adjusted" or missles "balanced" Me, nor anyone who is still playing eve, didn't quit or say our skill training is over. We just adapted and overcame.
